I’m Matt Peck, the face behind Hopternal. I’ve always enjoyed photography, especially landscape photography. For over 15 years I documented my backpacking trips throughout the Rocky Mountains, which is also a passion of mine. Interested? You can check out some of those photos on Instagram here.

But, as I often say, “Beer first!” I started my Brewtography journey in early 2012 shooting beers like Ruination and Pliny. My go to camera at the time was a Canon point and shoot. That worked for awhile, but in 2015 I went all in with the Sony a7II, which changed everything. I could now produce the images that I’d been dreaming of for years.

I amped up my trade game shortly after to start bringing in some of the baddest New England Style IPAs known to man. Then, in 2016 Hopternal was born.

What’s Hopternal mean? Well, I’ve always dug the infinity symbol and started throwing around names like Hopfinity and Infinityhop, when the song from KLF 3 AM Eternal hit my mind, and Hopternal was born.

To me, it means forever hops. Hopternally yours. I absolutely love big hoppy beers – and I don’t mean big as in abv – big, bright, juice packed, rich-bodied beers.

I’ve been working with one of my favorite Colorado breweries, Odd13, for close to 3 years now. From product work to capturing their staff cranking out all varieties of their beer. I’ve also worked with Primitive, Jagged Mountain, Outer Range, and feature all my favorites in my Instagram stories regularly. If you’re interested in stepping up your breweries social media with some dynamite photos and videos, shoot me an email.
